Companies are required to appoint auditors to conduct the audit of the company’s financial statements. Here are the general time limits for auditor appointments:
Process Flow
Check the provisions of the Companies Act and the Articles of Association regarding the appointment of auditors.
Convene a meeting of the board of directors /shareholders to pass a resolution approving the appointment of auditors.
File Form ADT-1 (Notice of Appointment of Auditor) with the RoC within 15 days of the appointment.
Pay the applicable filing fee and submit the necessary documents, such as the consent letter from the auditor and the resolution approving the appointment.
The RoC will review and process the filing, and upon successful approval, the auditor will be appointed for the company.
